Beige

Beige is the color of unbleached wool and, for a stretch of the late twentieth century, almost every office computer. Its undertone is yellow-green, which is why it ages better than pinker neutrals when seen in daylight. Editorial and interior design use it as a warm canvas for richer accents like terracotta or muted navy. On screens, beige softens the eye strain that pure white can cause during extended reading, which is why it shows up in long-form reading apps and reader views. The undertone means cool grays placed next to it will look slightly dirty by comparison.
