Dark Khaki

Dark Khaki is a muted yellow-brown named after the dust-toned uniforms of late nineteenth century British forces in South Asia. The CSS hex is desaturated and slightly olive, distinct from the lighter Khaki entry. Outdoor gear and earthy interior palettes use it as a primary or secondary tone. Deep navy handles type contrast; cream and warm wood push it toward a calmer outdoor palette. The low chroma makes it easy on the eye for large-area surfaces. Long-form reading against a Dark Khaki background feels less fatiguing than against pure white under tungsten light at evening hours.
